Having attended Tuart Hill Primary, and High School, and completing Certificates in Hotel Management, Dave worked at nearby taverns and hotels before joining the WA Police Force in 1989. Dave served for nearly 16 years in metro and country locations, and attained the rank of Senior Constable, before resigning in 2005, to contest the State Seat of Yokine (now Mount Lawley) as the endorsed Liberal candidate.
While raising two sons, Dave assisted in their sporting pursuits with the Inglewood and Dianella Soccer Clubs, Cubs Baseball Club, Coolbinia Bombers Football Club, and Mt Lawley Cricket Club. Dave was also a member of the Yokine Bowling and RSL Club.
Since leaving the Police Force, Dave has forged a successful career in the WA and NT Resources Sector, in areas of Management, Consultancy and Sales, and is currently employed as a Business Development Manager (WA/NT) with an East Coast based Mining and Industrial Equipment Supplier.
Dave has always endeavoured to ‘champion’ local issues. He was Ballot Number 1, as an Independent political candidate for the State Seat of Scarborough at the 2021 State Election, to bring attention to the alarming escalation of serious assaults and ‘one punch attacks’ that plague the beachfront, Northbridge and CBD areas of the Greater Perth Area.
Dave Vos supports a common-sense approach to road speed limits, a national plan for road rules, speed limits, and road construction, proper truth in sentencing for perpetrators of assault, sufficient funding for hospitals and aged care, sustainability in foreign immigration, a better share of GST for WA, and the delivery of defence funded equipment, personnel and services in this decade, not in 2040.
