Julie Matheson for Western Australia, Independent for the Senate.
This election campaign to FIX the GST, our fair share of the Excise Fuel Tax and infrastructure funding resulted in more votes than any other Independent Senate Candidate across Australia!

Julie Matheson for Western Australia Party ran 20 candidates that campaigned to FIX the family court system, abolish the GST Welfare System, cancel laws which enable Canberra to plunder WA, abolish payroll tax and duties, FIX the drug problem and rehab for addicts, cut RED TAPE, install a 21st century telecommuncations system throughout the state. We gained 6,145 votes which was a fantastic result for our first contest as a registered political party.

Julie Matheson for Western Australia party ran 12 candidates in the Upper House with a campaign to to stop interstate parties from dominating our parliament and introducing eastern states ideologies to WA. We gained 5,270 votes which was a fantastic result, it provided us with a strong foundation for future elections.

In March 2018 the Western Australia Party had its most successful campaign to FIX the GST. Former Mayor of Mosman Park and Scrap the DAP campaigner Ron Norris gained 9.0% of the vote which made the Federal Government change the GST funding to 70% after they said it couldn’t be done in 2017. It was a fantastic result and one that showed the anger over the GST Distribution.

In June 2018 the Western Australia Party had more success with former TV newsreader and producer Russell Goodrick campaigning to FIX the family court system, protect our local food produce from imported produce and compensate police hurt on the job.  Russell received 5.8% of the vote managing to beat the Greens and One Nation in many polling booths.

In July 2018, we ran Party leader Julie Matheson in the Perth By-election as an AEC unregistered candidate. The campaign to FIX the GST was everywhere and the result was fantastic! More than 3,000 voters or 5.38% and proved that the WESTERN AUSTRALIA PARTY can have an impact on a national level and FIX the GST.

The 18th of May was our first official general election as the WESTERN AUSTRALIA PARTY. It was an enormous success with all seats represented except Cowan in the Lower House seats. The campaign for 11% share of federal funding, Commonwealth jobs in WA, FIX the GST, save franking credits and negative gearing for workers and investors, security for Front Line workers, FIX suicide in WA, stop forced infill ideologies from ruining our state, water for local produce, FIX family law and regional airfares gained 25,298 votes for the party.  We beat established parties like the Nationals, Shooters, Fishers and Farmers, Australian Christians. Our most successful result was with Gary Mounsey in Durack gaining 35% of the vote in Exmouth. A fantastic result!

We ran a very experienced team of 5 on our party Senate ticket: Julie Matheson, David Freilich OAM, Bruce Thompson, Ron Norris, and Rod Bradley. This amazing team of Western Australians gained 17,213 votes a great result for our first federal election! In fact, they managed to beat parties that currently have Members of Parliament including: Liberal Democrats, Animal Justice and the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers.
